Londres is ideally situated half-way between the Pacific beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park and the rainforests of Cerro Nara, only 8 miles east of the Quepos Airport. Here you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds. Londres is still undiscovered, and you won’t find it on most maps, (GPS: N09 27.675 W84 04 .163) Here you'll also discover the London Bridge, one of the better suspension bridges in Costa Rica. Rio Naranjo offers Class III/IV white water rafting May through November with exceptional fly fishing with crystal clear water, or a flat water float, December through April.

Many of the day tours booked from Quepos actually take place in Londres. If you are adventurous and plan to run the rapids, zip through the canopy, rappel down waterfalls, ride a horse or ATV to discover the Sky Bridge in the rainforests of Cerro Nara then Londres is the place to be. (Photos) "Londres had the best of everything for a "back to nature" getaway & it's close to Manuel Antonio Park". (Ronda) Most guide books tell you "Quepos stinks" literally. Londres is fragrant with Ylang-Ylang, el Liro and Night Blooming Jasmine. Come enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the rainforest in a friendly small town atmosphere.
Lots of changes have occurred this year. We finally (as of May 2005) have an ICE phone sign announcing you have arrived in Londres. El Gallo Mas Gallo, came to town, where you can buy all your appliances on time payments. The community has begun a new High School in the Community building and they are raising funds ($20,000) to buy a piece of land so the government will build the school. If you have anything at all you'd like to donate to the HS they need CD players for English lessons, pencils and pencil sharpeners. Obsolete stationary makes for great note paper. Just about anything you can think of will be greatly appreciated. Two new restaurants are opening this December, 2005. Abe's Vegan Haven is the only 100% vegetarian restaurant in the entire Quepos/Manuel Antonio/Londres area. Open Christmas to Easter. Restaurante La Calena with an Italian menu offer pizza, Lasagna and spaghetti is run by July a Columbian woman, located in the center of Londres. Richie, a "Gringo" has re-opened (6/06) Robin Hood's Restaurant.
Buses: Londres is easily accessible with 6 buses daily for under 50 cents (US) or a 20 minute taxi ride for $10.00. Buses leave the Quepos Mercado (across from Super Mas) at 04:30; 07:00*; 09:00; Noon; 4:00 & 6:00* *except Sunday, no local service on Good Friday. Be sure to ask for LONDRES abajo, 9about 50 cents) as 3 buses will have “Londres-Villa Nueva” painted on the front windows.
NEW DIRECT SERVICE Quepos-Londres-Sabalo leaves the mercado at 2:30pm. Leaves Sabalo at 05:30 and leaves Londres about 06:10 and arrives in Quepos 7:00 am, (75 cents) Plan to 'que up' at least 15 minutes for any of these buses.
